How does a haptic book for children look?
The book is handmade.
It is a set of approximately 10 hard cardboards with pictures. The pictures are simple, formed by overlaying pleasant, interesting and often natural materials. The materials used are selected such that they remind of properties of the real objects they represent (a tree is made of wood, animal is made from fur, mushroom from soft foam). The pictures enable minor manipulations – to stroke an animal, pull its ear or tail, open a window etc. The pages are numbered and equipped with simple story text in both spot scripture and black print. Parents can expand the text according to their judgement.
Topics of the books are suitable for children of preschool age and early school age but they can bring interesting experience and diversity also to older ones.
